Six Ibadan Poly students killed as bus sommersaults on expressway

An 18-seater bus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan has been involved in a fatal accident.
The bus somersaulted at Omotunde village along the Ibadan-Oyo Expressway after one of its tires burst.
Four of the passengers on board died at the scene while two others lost their lives on the way to hospital.
The passengers were students and employees of The Polytechnic, Ibadan. But, it’s not clear how many of them were students.
The 18-seater bus belongs to the Quantity Surveying Department of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Other occupants sustained varying degrees of injuries, reports say.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident with a post on its Facebook page:
6 (3M, 3F) adults fatalities and 12 (10M, 2F) adults injured in a lone crash that occurred on 08/02/16 @1645hrs along Oyo -Ibadan (Omotunde 15Km to Ibadan) involving a White Jinbei Bus. Victims were taken to Adeoyo Hospital and St Patrick Hospital both in Ibadan.
